Who made up all these rules?
We follow 'em like fools.
Believe 'em to be true.
Don't care to think 'em through.

Any solution for it? Will aquarium salt help? How much should I add for a 2x1x1 tank?

Seldom seen otos with dropsy.
Well just get any brand of medication for internal bacteria.
I personally use interpet one. found it gd.
Don't think it's dropsy, I am pretty sure it is the normal healthy bulge that the Otos have.
Here's something for comparison.

Just out of curiousity, does our local temperature favor their well being? In Australia, their DOA is ridiculously high, including their prices..$12!
whats DOA?
Dead on arrival.
As long as our temperature doesn't get too high, they can tolerate it. However, if I remembered correctly, I have read in some forums mentioning that the shorter lifespan of Otos in the aquarium, compared to the wild, is due to the higher temperature in the tanks.
I am guessing that the DOA is caused by lack of dissolved oxygen. They do need well oxygenated water.
One of my otos got dropsy. But from the picture I cant tell.
I normally just rid the fish because I have yet to hear anyone who are successful in treating dropsy.
Dropsy is like cancer for humans...
I'm back!
