The 1.1km boardwalk goes over part of the mudflats and mangroves and is free of charge (you have to get your own transport to the place though). Excellent site for bird-watching, reptiles and invert both terrestrial and coastal.

Chek Jawa is also one of the richest habitats locally for seagrasses with 6-7 species, which are flowering plants in the same family as Blyxa, Elodea and Vallisneria. The visitor centre will have a marine tank showing some of the native seagrass species: see http://wildfilms.blogspot.com/2007/0...w-chapter.html

Access to the visitor centre and boardwalk is free, while you have to register for (very popular) guided walks to go down to the mud and sand during low tide. For infor here: http://www.nparks.gov.sg/park38_3.asp and here: http://chekjawa.nus.edu.sg/faq.htm
