    Hi all,

anyone know why plants will melt away or the root will rot after planted in the tank for a few weeks...

today.. I notice my plant's root seem to rot away.. (it was ok last week)
very sad to see this thing happen... WHY????

I releaise that my canistor filter got a peice of black median (think is carbon)..could this be the cause to all my plant problem?

me got DIY C02, water temp ard 27 degree..

Yes, take out the black media... it works like carbon. Not sure if its the cause of your problems though.

What plants are they? Using base fert? Substrate fert? Liquid fert? Lights (W/G)?

If the plants melt, usually its a lack of nutrients...

ya.. I removed the black carbon stuff.. I think it lack of nutrients too... I using root-monster and liquid fert (2 twice in a week)

now all I have to do is wait for a week and see whether the rest of my plants now still melt.. hope they grow healthly.. else plants lost and money gone too[] []

Carbon pads helps to remove harmful chemicls, but it also removes the fertilisers you aded in. So the plants not getting enough.
Another media in the filter to avoid is Zeolite. Just keep with filter floss and ceramic rings (optional) can do.

For you rotted plants, if it is stem plants, can still salvage the healthier tops and replant.

Acid fish, if you can ID the plant, it will help us to understand better.
