Hi all again, me got a problem with my DIY C02 system. I know that we cannot control DIY CO2 as a result my fishes all go to the surface for air.. seem like too much CO2 and too little oxyen in the water[]

anyone know how to re-solve this...

The fishes go to the surface the whole day or only at night? If only at night, then connect an aerator (or power head with a venturi) to a timer and have it turn on in the evening after the lights go out until the lights come on again.

If it's all day, use less yeast in your DIY to reduce the amount of CO2 produced.

Not sure of the details, but Yeast is a living organism that consumes the sugar and produce CO2. So altering the amount of yeast, alters amount of CO2 produced.

The airstone is not really to add more oxygen. If your plants are photosynthesising, then the water has plenty of O2. The problem is way way way excess CO2... which affects the ability of the fishes to get O2. Search www.thekrib.com for 'CO2 poisoning' to find out more.

The airstone helps to reduce the amount of CO2 to safer levels.

i agree with vinz, if u using DIY, best to aerate the tank at nite, Co2 saturation is high when there isnt photosynthesis
