What is the safe zone of CO2..in terms of ppm that is. Heard some say is 15-20ppm..while dennerle says its other value? What do you guys opt for?

this may sound very lame/noobish.. but I prefer to visual see to gauge..
As long as my fish do not go to the surface at anytime of the day, and my plants are bubbling then I'm ok with the CO2 injection.
Current settings: 1 bubble per 2-3 sec
I do not measure PH or CO2 level. Save the cash for nicer plants, fert., and fish []

Simon..what did you use? Those long term CO2 test kit installed inside a tank? ...Zero, did you buffer your water? Not scare of pH crash? [:0]

the dennerle handbook has some interesting values
neon tetras show no sign of discomfort at 100mg/l of co2
black mollies still feel very comfortable at 500mg/l
guppies breed happily at 800 mg/l
quoted verbatim
1mg/l = 1ppm
no peter, what i was referring to is by looking at yr fishes and plants
Nope, I don't buff my water. I dun have coral chips or add any KH power to my tank.
But I trying out something, placing calcium tablets in my tank. See if got any good / ill effects. Else I have been running like tt for the past 3 yrs of my aqurium life.
I only have a NO2 test kit, which i use only when i come back from camps.
My fishes/prawns/pelcos are not affected so... I'm NOT going to fiddle ard with anything. They happy, I happier []

Zero~! Can i know how big is your tank? How do you come about 1 bubble/ 2-3 seconds?
Plant Physiology by Taiz and Zeiger
Tank size 35" X 16" X 18" abt the standard 3 feet tank size
1 bubble / 2-3 sec is controlled by Dulpa regulator. Can control down to 1 bubble / 15sec [suppose, but too little]
Different tank has diff bubble rate, but i find tt my 1 bubble/2-3 sec is good enough for my tank,
min CO2 injection = less CO2 use + bubbling Riccias, and plants
And more importantly, if I forget to turn off at night, I wouldn't risk killing my fish, prawns and plecos []
I'm saving for a soleniod valve, and get it just before I go in NS. []
Bubble depends on yr plants requirements, fish load [more fish, produce more CO2], and type of plants.
