does anyone know what the brown streaks on the leaf of my echi. are? i found some on my lotuses too...they kind of look like pieces of faeces, but they appeared when i had absolutely no fish in my tank. hopefully they're obvious enough to be seen. could they be snail faeces or eggs? or even worm faeces or eggs as all i see in my tank are some red worms and snails that i suspect were brought in by the plants (have since added a baby puffer in to tackle the worm and snails)
Sorry for the quality of the photos. the only camera i have at home right now is my phone camera

possible to be dirt ? u got try rubbing them off with ur fingers ?
my tank got these too, but finer...
something wrong with my eco-system, now changing water + bump in stress enzyme weekly... thats wat i got for neglecting the tank =/
Could be brown diatoms/algae.
I'm back!
Bloodworm cocoons?
thanks for all the responses =)
i originally thought it was dirt or diatom/algae too, but it seems weird for all of them to be similarly streaked onto the leaves of my plants, unless my water current was making them settle that way. i found 2 stuck on the glass in the same shape though, so i don't think it's that, unless algae forms in such shape?
hopefully it's bloodworm cocoons like bryan guessed, then my fish will get free food
can anyone else provide any other insight?
Likely to be some insect larvae since you mentioned no fish. Disturb the thing a bit and see if you see "worm" there.
ck
i think it some kind of worms..how is your tank water movement??
