I'm not sure whether I should put this on hardware section or plant section. The question is about US fissiden but related to the lighting.

Anyway I got three 2ft tank same size, All of them with 55W PL light (MAGNUM II). Two of the with OSRAM Delux L 55W/860 light bulb and one with SAFER... 55W/870 light bulb (can't really remember the brand). I follow EI dosing regime with the same amount of fert to all of them.

The question I would like to ask is why my US fissiden grow nicer, denser on 55W/860? Even the newly tied US fissiden start to grow nicer under OSRAM light bulb. Is it because of OSRAM lightbulb having more red spectrum that plant need? or is it because of the color temperature? Where can I get the OSRAM light spectrum info? I’m currently swapping the light bulb and see if the grows improve after 1 month under OSRAM light.

Maybe the one of your tubes gives out more light intensity per watt. One 55W tube from brand A can give more lumens than another tube from brand B. I'd say that's the reason why you have nicer growth in one tank even though you're using the same wattage on the different tanks.

P.S. This is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated.

I think maybe because of the red spectrum content of OSRAM light higher than the other light. So far the grow is a bit slow probably need to wait a bit longer.

Plant needed red spectrum or blue spectrum to grow well?

If red spectrum, then temperature 2700k light bulb should be better (please correct me if I wrong)?

Agreed. Lumen determine the power of light emitted from light bulb.

Need to see the amount of red and blue spectrum in the light. Maybe osrum light have the spectrum in the correct zone. too much red and no blue will not produce the best result also.

For green plants the lighting peaks that are most important:
    Chlorophyll-a: 430nm/662nm
    Chlorophyll-b: 453nm/642nm
    Carotenoids: 449nm/475nm.

You will need a mix of red and blue for the best result.

such an old tread , when I re-think about it, I wonder if it is due to color temp or other factor
