The only thing for sure is Bogwood more expensive than driftwood.

Really, I thought BW is cheaper than DW.
so which one should i get for crs tanks? do both DW or BW leech tanin?
I am confused as well.... but its seems that the term "Drift Wood" conjures up images of "floating" wood. If Bog wood has been in the ground, it seems that it would be heavier and denser. I can't get consistant info from local fish stores....

I like to think of all aquarium wood as "aged wood", just like aged water.
LIFE IS UNBEARABLE WITHOUT A FISH TANK!!!
Hello all being that we are talking about DW and BW were about does grapevine come into the picture. The ones i have seen DONT look like grapevines more like small branches from trees. Can anyone clarify this for me.
Interesting. I bought DW from LFS years back. Now how did the very dark color comes about? The seller actually just sink the wood into a 4 ft tank. The water is darken with black water essence ( not very expensive ), prolong submerging in the water, the only thing with this is that the tank have to be more or less covered up to prevent mosquito breeding. It is only removed when it achieve the desired color. Perhaps this is what some would gauge as "aged wood".
I do not take note of bog or drift that much, although the difference is earth and water. For me, it will work for me so long the DW have a beautiful face. Should I need to choose BW, I will make sure it has a sexy curvature but I might wanna submerge it into black water instead. Usually dark color ones are already close to decomposition, so the edges tend to break off easily. Hence, you will need to hand with care, even the slightest knock can break the face of DW. I have several DW which usually I would air in under the sun over layers of newspaper, make sure it is fully dry then use newspaper to wrap before storing up. These DW are being alternate for usage in between Re-scaping.
