hi guys. as rescaping a 23cm x 15cm x 18cm tank which now is a japnese HG tank. would like to go for ZEN style with just rocks and HC.
will HC creep in such condition?
    tank specs :
    Lighting : 13Watt PL lighting
    substrate : GeX substrate
co2 : daily o.5 ML of seachem excel (using a syring)
ferts : root monster. No3, Po4, K, Excel, florish and Trace.
    temp : 28 - 30(room temperature)
was wondering if HC will do well with just excel as carbon souce.. lighting im pretty sure its enough.
not getting any co2 cylinder or even DIY co2 as it is on a computer table.
    thanks

HC loves Excel for some reason, or other(what I have noticed, not saying that it's true). With 13 watts over a tank of those dimensions, HC will grow, but fairly slowly. I would advice you to get a small cooling fan as HC does much better in cooler waters.

P.S. This is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated.

its better to cool the tank
hc doesnt do well in higher temperatures

since it sits near the computer i'm assuming its near all the heat sources from your pc and whatnot
may not be significant but may be a factor

he did it with submersed HC i believe.. and arolee bro is doing a hc tank too.. with normal room temp.. and his hc is creeping.. because his HC is submersed when he plant it. he floated his emmersed HC for 1 week before he plant.

or maybe i will try APP.. i heard for app to creep.. dosing NO3 is a must.. issit right? dunno if its nitrate or the other nitrite..

APP is a very easy plant to grow. I simply plug them into my lapis sand and they start creeping all over. APP requires high lighting to creep. Low lighting causes them to "climb" higher.

i heard from people that without no3(i think) it will not creep..
