Its probably Blue Green Algae. You can read up on it at http://www.thekrib.com/Plants/Algae/. Also search this forum for BGA.
Meanwhile, give us some details about your tank like, size, plants, fishes, what fert used, amt/duration of light. If you can, test the NO2 (nitrate) and PO4 (phosphate) levels in your tank.
Nothing will eat it. It is actually a cyno-bacteria, not a true algae. Your first step is to manually remove as much as you can. Change about 30% of your tank water if you haven't done so yet.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.

scoop it up
whenever you see it, scoop it up
change water regularly, it shouldn't persist long
Thanks. i will post my specs now. how is bga caused?
my tank is 60x30x36cm. nitrite is at 0.1mg/l. nitrate at 0.
ammonia at 0.25 and my ph is at 6.8
i have 2 sae, 2 oto, 20 malayan and 5 yamato and a betta.
intend to put cardinal tetra in the future.
thanks for your help, everyone.
looks quite ok for a new tank
but if the nitrite goes up i'd change water in a hurry
bga is caused by . . . i actually dunno
but it's from some nutrient imbalance
Supposedly, BGA appears in N-limited tank.
