Hi, i would like to find out if there would be a situation where my tank is too bright. I have tried putting fish in the tank once but the fishes will only stay in a corner of the tank. I have a zen scaped tank with hair grass and a little bit of rocks. If there isn't such a thing then it must be my water parameters but i've been doing weekly water changes and washing of my filter.

I think you shouldnt be washing your filter every week. This will not allow the beneficial bacteria to do their work.

misunderstanding because you said "I’ve been doing weekly water changes and washing of my filter". I also have the same interpretation as bro prec, doing water changes and washing filter together weekly

Can there be too much light? Sounds like a good problem for me I would add water hyacinth to my tank and more foilage. Depends on the fish really, some fish likes swimming under the open sun, others like some shade.

add hyacinth to the tank and then you'll lose light for your plants.

Maybe not hyacinth, frogbit is good. diffuses the intensity of light, light will still penetrate to the bottom and the fish feels more comfortable.

Hi, I noticed my rummy nose, cardinals & neons doing the same...hiding...BUT whenever I do water changes, may it be once in 2 days or once a week, its like I see them swimming in schools & happy! I guess new water makes them active? the more water I change, the longer they r active, the lesser water I change the shorter they r active & then resume back to hiding mode!

    Anyone seen this behaviour b4?

    Yup Shaihulud,

frogbits r the best & they look better than water hyacinth or lettuce...i have a problem of controlling some of the plant growth in my tank! need to trim once a week!
