as above... i know red plants need iron.. but recently.. i read that Gu jing aka Eriocaulon SP "mato grosso" require iron to prevent yellow leaves..
issit just that plant or any green plant is best to have iron? just like they need NPK?
here is what a forum called aquaticplantcentral say about gu jing
"iron is critical for large, vigorous growth. Iron should also be dosed through the water column to prevent pale or yellow leaves"

Iron (Fe) is a trace element required by all plants. Yellowing of leaves is a very general symptom and can be caused by other things besides Fe deficiency. You might want to be specific about which leaves is yellow. e.g. Magnesium deficiency affect old leaves etc. BTW, there are ~16 other essential elements that plants need. Adequate supply of them will ensure large, vigorous growth; not just iron.

I don't agree with the sweeping statement that iron should be dosed in the water column. There are more than one way to skin a cat. Laterite is widely used as a source of Fe in the substrate in days before the Internet exist.
