Hi all.. I have been having an infestation of very tiny creatures in my tank.. Its doesn't seem to harm my shrimp or plants but I often see them swimming about.. They are the size of a pin head (pins you find in a brand new office shirt when its unpacked).. ie.. about 1 mm diameter.. no bigger than this.. These buggers are white in colour and they just swim about.. They seem to enjoy gathering in the evening and have a party.. I have tried to take photos but it just doesn't come out clear ..

Any ideas what these are .. and how to eliminate them also.. ( I just wanna know BUT have no intention of getting rid of them yet )

    Thanks..
    Jerry

    its copepods infestation...
they look white in your lights but actually a darker in colour.
i believe a tetra or two, or similar sized fish (2 to 3 cm), will zap them from your tank.
but you are right that they will not harm your shrimp or fish.

I like those little things, they're filter feeders and can protect your tank from algae blooms and possibly eat the larval forms of parasites that might harm your fish.
