    Hi all,

Pulled out a small bunch of this plant which looks a bit like Japanese or Singapore Fissiden along a roadside near my place. I separated them into two bunch, 1 bunch I plant in a pot with potting soil and another bunch is still soaked in a container.

Can anyone advise what plant is this and can it go submerged? I also saw what looks like chocho moss which C328 was selling, can that also go submerged?

    Thanks!

    Cheers,
    BH

This plant, I am very sure can be grown emersed. I did post a thread on this as well, a little lazy to go dig it out.

Hello hello, I think Lim you are confused with emersed and submersed. your title are post question have opposite meaning!

Submersed in botany refers to aquatic plant growing entirely underwater. Emersed refers to aquatic plant reaching above surface of water.

No, this plant does not do well submersed because it's a terrestrial plant. Since it's terrestrial, it does not qualify as emersed because emersed applies to aquatic plants that adapt to above water conditions!

    Typo error

    Hi all,

Actually I tried to edit my post(changing the emersed to submerged), but somehow the subject title in the thread changed, but the thread title still stays.

Anyway, if it cannot survive submerged, then I don't see any point of me keeping it.

Anyone interested to have them, just a very small bunch only by the way, people into vivarium?

Interested party, pls PM me, collect at Dover Crescent Blk 18 in the evenings/night.

    cheers.

Yeah, just noticed that as well. Sorry to give you grief. This plant has appeared in many threads in many forums as hopefull candidate for the planted tank but unfortunately it's not.

For the editing of the thread title, Stan will need to do the editing for you.

Done! [after some searching and fiddling!]

Perhaps not the best way but copied and deleted the old one.

Hi... Hmm... The plant does look like a species of the Selaginella family... Definitely not to be used submersed... But will do well with its feet wet in a vivarium environment...
