Hi there. I am trying to figure out what is going on with my tank. I have recently added PMDD to my tank. I am having some problems with a brown looking type of slime. Not sure if it is an algae or bacteria. Here is a picture which show some javafern windelov with brown substance on it and then I wiped it off with my fingers so you can tell the difference (it comes off easily and is slippery). Can anyone tell me what this is and what my problem might be. Here is what i have:
Standard 6 foot with 12 x 20 watt daylight bulbs (6500K)
3.4 W/gal
light on 12 hrs/day
CO2 injected
Laterite undersubstrate
PMDD (though I stopped adding it recently due to probs I am having)
Phosphates: 0.5 mg/L
pH: 7.5
KH: 120 mg/L
GH: 120mg/L
Nitrite: Negl
Nitrate: Negl
Ammonia: Negl (but I did notice that a slight precipitate formed in the test tube - using hagen test kit)
Iron: 0.1 mg/L
25% weekly water change
I also have several bristlenoses and another algae eater but they don't seem to help.
I think that my CO2 is down a bit lower than it should be (I am calculating about 6.4 mg/L)
and here is the picture:

Anyway, can anyone give me their expert opinion? Thanks in advance.
