cutting is an option, or simply ripping them off and replanting is another cause cuttings can leave you with, well, bits and pieces which are tough to clear. Careful, riccia is a very useful and good plant in many sense, but sometimes it can be a sore too.

    harvesting riccia trimming riccia...
    actually is the same thing...
all you have to do is give it a hair cut to your desired height...
the trimming should be done before the very bottom layer of riccia (below your wire mesh or fishing line) starts to melt/rot... if not trimmed in time and bottom layer melts... the whole chunk of riccia floats up...
this has happened to me but what i did was i cut pieces of wire mesh in desired shapes and threw them over the riccia... this held the riccia down... then trimming can be done to keep the riccia in check again...
i have quite ALOT of riccia to give... very healthy riccia floating in my 2 feet tank... therez so much it has covered the surface of my 2 feet tank and is growing downwards! hehe!

Steve..wait for it to grow man~..it will grow so fast that you feel you hope it will stop unless your tank conditions are not ideal and they are not growing?

ryan, i'm interested in your riccia...

i bought a piece from Nature Aquarium for $6... think its bloody expensive... and the riccia seems abit thick and coarse too (maybe due to my tank condition)...

think i've seen mini ones (nicer) in one of the shop in serangoon north area... but heard they can go for $15 for each small mesh...

may i know which type is yours?

    cheers,
