There are many types of cichlids.
African, Central America, South American. Which type you are referring to?

thanks.. Looking for chichlids that will mature at about 6inches.. size of an adult's open palm.. preferably with colour.. and which can survive in a pond setting.. no preference for where the fish came from.. africa or south america..

How big is the pond? I've seen beautiful Oscars in a Koi pond.

If you are looking for cichlids for a pond, then there's really no point for colours as most cichlids' colourations and patterns are shown on their flanks...

Albino or goldish tilapias and the pink oscars would be good choices... though they get to about 7-8 inches...

Slightly smaller ones with colours to be seen from the top will be more difficult to find...

You can try Cichlids Forever (http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...6&highlight=CF)...
