Not advisible to use DIY CO2 for a 5 footer tank.

Hi all, just wanted to say yo from HK...
I've not got any tanks at the moment, but am planning on setting up a new planted tank...
My fish experience = 2 years marine tank (had to strip down because of the amount of time & money it consumed!!) & have dabbled in freshwater tanks before, but never used forums, so now I look forward to having an awesome resource like this!
My plan for my new tank is quite an easy to maintain setup, I'm thinking maybe 5ft ~ 200litre tank, with 100litre sump underneath - use this as my filter, have a good amount of space to nurse fry/quarantine, even grow plants - im not too sure..
Lighting I will need to work out what I can afford haha, maybe MH, maybe just some T5's.
CO2 - might go DIY to start off, get a high pressure bottle later..
Look forward to talking to you all!

Thanks for the early advice!
I'm still goin through the planning stages, so this is good to know, thanks.
Using a normal tank (not aluminium - cost HK$100) and a manual regulator (without the meter - cost less than HK$50 [exclude tank!]) is a cheap way to start.
