Hi pple, I saw this ebi got net-like front claws instead of pincers - what kind of shrimp is that? Yamatos got pincers, right? Anyone knows? The LFS keeper says it's a Yamato. But what are the hairy, net-like fronts for?

Anyway, If I'm keeping shrimps (including Yamatoes) with small fishes like tetras, will the shrimps attack the fishes? Any suggestion of amiable shrimps? I rememebered my glass shrimps onced attack my tetras in my old tank...

the shrimps with net-like appendages are the Singapore or Wood shrimp. they use the "net" to filter stuff out of the water for food. Yamatoes are completely different animals.

most of the smaller shrimps like Malayan, cherry red, tiger, bee, etc are not aggressive.

ninjafly, you talking about the long-arm shrimps (palaemonids)?

hei bee king, pleco king, cory king, apisto king, all these members are "kings" cos you just put a name like "shrimps" on your title, you'll very possibly see their participation lah! [] then when there's any special sightings, you'll see them in the "hello kitty" queue...

FLORENCE, capital of the region of Tuscany, has a population of around half a million inhabitants, spreads on the banks of the Arno, between the Adriatic and the Tyrrhenian seas, almost in the middle of the Italian peninsula. It is a city which bustles with industry and craft, commerce and culture, art and science.
