    Hi guys,

I have a 40 US gallons (150 litres) pretty well planted tank, I guess the effective volume of the tank would be around 130 litres. My fauna is as follows:

    8X Tiger Barbs
    6X Rosy Barbs
    6X Cory Trilineatus

Now I plan on adding 6X Neon Tetras. Will this make my tank overcrowded or am I still safe? I have a pretty big, heavy duty internal filter.

Assuming it is not a tall tank (height is longer than length), I don't think it will be a problem. The length of the tank seems to be about 2.5 to 3 feet, which I think is good enough or barbs. The largest fish you have are the rosy barbs that can grow up to 6 inches in size.

It will also depends very much on your maintenance routines to keep good water quality for your fishes.

yes, my tank is about 2,5 feet long. I do weekly 35% water changes, so I guess I'm ok. Thanks for the answer, I really look forward to add the neon tetras, they are very lively coloured fish, so I'm expecting they will look good in my tank.
