hi guys. i am planning to get a pair of killies. but will killies attack my shrimps and can they be kept in a planted tank? i have a chiller connected to my 2028. i keep the temperature at 26 degrees. my question is will they die if the water is too cold and are killies hardy fishes? where to get really nice killies?
hope to get some good advices and suggestions. thanks in advance

Your questions are too general as there are many species of killifish and each have their own requirements. So it would be easier if you could narrow down the species that you have in mind and find out the specific requirements.

When it comes to shrimps, I generally follow the general thumb of rule that anything that fits the mouth of the fish is potential food for them. However, to generalise, many species are not compatible with shrimps.

Did know that there are annual and non-annual killies as well? So it really depends on what you are looking for. You will need to do lots of reading on the basics first.

You may want to check out http://www.killies.com, a Singapore based site for killifish keepers. Do take some time to read the introduction as well, http://www.killies.com/introduction.htm
