    Hi,

I am Fabian from Romania- I kept fish from 20 years, but not all the time. I am interested now in those coldhardy Macropodus, M. ocellatus and northern forms of M. opercularis. I have the tropical M. spechti too- I like to keep more species, but the time don't allow me... I am a fan of wildtypes. Also interested in other hardy exotics- plants, especially from dry climates.
Very glad to find you here! Nice forum!

    Greetings from Bucharest!

    Fabian

    Welcome to AQ Fabian!

Could we have a sneak peek of your setup?

If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.
Don't walk behind me as I might not lead, don't walk in front of me as I might not follow. Walk beside me, as my friend.
Mohamad Rohaizal is my name. If it's too hard, use BFG. I don't mind.

    Hi!

Risking to disappoint you, I have only a few tanks up to 100l and some black round plastic 90l pots ("for mortars") used very much in Europe to keep fish outdoors.
I keep M. opercularis- albino, blue and wildtype (but no location for those), 4 M. ocellatus 4 cm - the strain known in Europe as "Yangtse", 3 others ocellatus 6cm unknown location, but possibly the same (not much colour, shy, more cylindrical body), and 11 M. spechti 6-8cm. Some Corydoras paleatus, Tanychthys albonubes, a few playful vivipars- nothing special.
I saw the splendid M. ocellatus form from Shanghai area, posted by Ikanpemburu- breathtaking! I am looking for such fish, and opercularis too, with precise habitat location data. I want to limit myself to such hardy species, no time for more... Can you help me with that?

    All the best!
