I went to Clementi and saw this green algae grown as a ball. Looks lovely. But has anyone grown this form of green algae before? would it be harmful to a planted aquarium - i.e. algae bloom?

I don't think the Alga Ball will cause Alga bloom unless your tank condition is really out of control.

oh i have the plant in my tank... it grows wild in my pond so i rip it off and use it in my tank... its quite a pest in the pond... no it doesn't cause algae bloom...

OMG,if Tom Barr is right, i think we have to tell all Taiwanese aquarists to amend it to Cladophora or Pithophora.
