October 15, 2007. It was third day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri (Malay term for the Muslim festival of Eid ul-Fitr) in Borneo. I followed my friends to visit a Malay's friend house in a village near Sebangan town. When we reached there, we found out his brother was going to marry his beautiful wife on that day. So, we decided to see the ceremony (in the afternoon) after coming back from the jungle (we went to explore the forest in that area after the visiting).

Ferry crossing. We have to cross 2 big rivers in this trip by using ferry.

    The door.

    The curtain.

    The Malay kid.

    The pelamin (raised dais) :

We couldn't stay long for the ceremony, so we left after eating the simple meal served by the family. And, on the way back .....we were stucked in the traffic jam at the ferry point for 2 hours!!!

Anyway, I had a wonderful time at Sebangan & Sebuyau. Will post more pictures of my trip soon.

    THE END.
