He wanted to see the cells of some plant...
but you say plants have no cells???? which i think is ridiculous... anything that is alive will have cells... and plant cells are one of the best to look at.

I think actually need to stain the cell to properly see it. or you get a microscope with canon DSLR attachment? prof Benito was showing us the cell structure of the various aquatic mosses.

When have I ever been not true to my words?

But microscope must have an removable eyepiece for the camera adaptor to slot in.

And I can get the quotes if you are serious.
Which brand you want? olympus? carl zeiss? Nikon??

The basic models cannot put the mount for camera. No need to remove eye piece, just slide a switch to project image to camera.

Well, if you get a stereo microscope you don't have to mount on the slide. The magnification will not be that large either. But then again, plant cells are huge in comparison to bacterial/ mammalian cells.

If you want to see the contents of the cell, you will need light to pass through it in the first place... not likely unless the sample is thin or sliced.

Staining the sample is to make certain things show up better (besides making it a more colourful picture). It really depends on what you want to see in your sample...

Yeah i know.. i'm not a fan of slide photography...its just so... one dimensional...

i used to work with microscopes and pictures in my old job identifying insects..so i can really appreciate it when people are able to take great photos with large dof using a microscope...
