    Hi,

I just bought all the rocks i needed todae. 10kg ++ for my 2ft. Got the last batch i needed today. Currently cycling the tank with my eden 304. Been at it for about 1 weeek.

Can i cycle it.. and at same time put in more rocks. Cause juz finish boiling and scrubbin the rocks. And also. WHen u say cyclin the tank. It concerns the filter right ? Like the Bacteria will build up in the filter ? Advice given to me was to use a eden 316 coz when the apistos give birth. I need a bigger filter to cope with the bioload.

Will be gettin eden 316. So once i get my 316.. I need to re-cycle my tank again ? cause i need the BB"Benificial bacteria" to build up in the filter ? or is the BB in the water ?

Sorry for the long and blur queries.. PLs bare with me

    THANKS !!!!!

    rgdds
    Thanks & Regards,

Hahahaha... I believe that someone is me?

If you've already gotten the 304, then stick with it if you're still keeping 2 fishes only. If the fishes do give birth. You'll have quite a bit of time to get a new filter before they are big enough to make a dent in you nitrogen cycle.

The bacteria will colonise all the surfaces in your tank (gravel, leaves, rocks, walls) but not float in the water. If you get the filter soon after fishes are born, the tank should be able to tahan until the filter is colonised.

Yes, you can put the new rocks in.

    aHi,

    Yes u !! And Simon !! And Bene !!,

Of coz i`ll stick with it man, can be used for my 1.5ft tank in my balcony. Cant stand the lifetech big filter i have.

You'll have quite a bit of time to get a new filter before they are big enough to make a dent in you nitrogen cycle.

"Explain this in detail pls. Like the dent in the nitrogen cycle".

Hmmmmm, u mentioned the "bb" colonises in the gravel, leaves etc.. But not the filter right ? ok thanks. Understood.

Yes, the filter too... that's where most of the bacteria is, but because they are everywhere, if you have a really low fish load, your tank can tahan until the new filter is colonised.

By '... dent in the Nitrogen cycle', I meant you have some time before the babies are big enough to contribute significantly to the N-cycle, such that you'll need extra filtration.
