    Folks,

just to share, my 17-40L lens had a great fall on Sunday at Clarke Quay..Guess what...when I saw the broken glass fliter when I picked the lens from the ground. I was like..it's a goner! The filter ring is dented inwards...Bad...bad I though...

Strangely, I discovered that it could still work..focus, take pics and all...and today canon called me and tell me the damage was minimal and the total fee for repairs is less than 200! I was like telling myself what a lesson...The truth is, the canon L lens are really built like tanks...not that I want to try that lesson again...

Replacement of the front barrel and re-calibration..Trust me, I wouldn't want to go thru ever again.
