Hi guys after a long break i decided to wet my dry tank. i have decided to have a non planted tank this time.

i am thinking of keeping African Rams. can you guys tell me what other fish i can keep for a non planted tank. they do not have to be co habituating with the rams. i might not put in the rams after all. thanks

Have you considered Malawi Cichlids? They are bright, colorful and active. Not plants needed in the tank. Just rocks.

Alternatively, you can consider an Amazonia concept, with only substrate and wood. There are plenty of American Cichlids and catfishes you can consider for this setup.

But more importantly, how big is your tank?

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

Yup for a Amazon blackwater biotope, throw in dead ketampang leaves, driftwoods and a layer of sand.

African rams? Hmm.. or do you mean the Kribs (Pelvicachromis spp.) or just African cichlids?

Can try Lake Tanganyika shell dwellers, just coral sand, shells and maybe some rocks.
Simple. I am setting up mine now and would like to see more members keeping these shell dwellers.
