    hi all,

    If i have 100L tank and i use a 300L flowrate filter.
    will it promote algae growth?
if you compare that with using a 70L to 100L flowrate filter.

I do experienced BBA growing at areas that have higher flow rate.

I find this rather puzzling also. I have more algae growing on the plants just beside my outlet and on the outlet pipe itself. My supposely stagnant corners are algae free.....

quite interesting that dennerle website do quote that higher flowrate of filter in regards to tanksize will have tendency of algae.

it is possible, with higher flow rate, the possibility of algae spore to hit and stick to the plant or anything infront of the outlet is higher.

I have a 100L tank with a 1100L/hr filter. I needed high flow to blast co2 for misting method. BBA hanging strong right at the outlet of filter and i wonder why.

maybe there is some relations between high flow and BBA

I read somewhere that high flow rate will prevent BBA from getting a foothold. Thats why some of them advise good water circulation and flow. But this observation certainly doesn't apply to my jumbo jet filter outlet

good flow will get the Co2 mist around your tank and prevent dead spots which in turn prevent BBA.

But i not too sure why BBA will occur on the outflow pipe
