    Hi,

I'm intending to use Potassium Permanganate Solution (probably bought from Guardian) to disinfect my tank, granite crystals and other tools.

How do I use it correctly in order to have a complete disinfection?

    Regards

Fill up your tank with water. Leave the granite and other tools in the tank.

Drop the crystal into the tank in small amounts. When the water turns light purple. Stir.

Then wait will the water turns brown. Leave it. Eventually, the water will turn clear. This may take a few days. Otherwise, you may clean up the tank when the water is brown.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

    Hi Benny,

Thanks for your advice. Do I need to rinse with Hydrogen Peroxide Solution in order to get rid of the Potassium Permanganate Solution before I put my betta in ?

    Regards

Dun need. You can change water to "neutralise" it or pour anti-chlorine into the tank and the purplish or brownish colour will clear up within minutes.
