DIY conversion from IOS to External Canister Filter?
Hello all,
I set up my 3ft tank a few months ago. There were a few losses while the tank was stabilizing, but now all is well in my heavily planted tank. The tank is a hand-me-down from someone who had built a DIY internal overflow filter. It takes up quite a bit of space in the corner and I'd like to streamline the look by moving it outside. Does anyone have any tips on making an external canister filter?
Also, I'd like to add some "center piece" fish - ie. Angel fish. I currently have 6 dwarf corys, 3 albino corys, 1 whiptail catfish, 5 black phantom tetras, 5 cherry barbs, 3 mollies. The mollies are temporary inhabitants. Questions:
- Are there any conflicts with compatibility?
- How am I doing on bioload?
- I'm not necessarily interested in breeding the angels, so I'd get more than two. What is the ideal number to make sure they're happy and the bioload is ok?
Random thought - How's the tanksize for discus?
