I realise some insert noice like "cangkerit", I switch off all my electric item and take out all my plant and shrimp to another and just left gravel there.

I though have some Perator insect gone into the tank and attact my shrimp.

I still hear zit....zit ....zit... when i put my ear to glass of tank.

But at the end found nothing.

I suspect the microganisma/ incert making such noice.

    Do you all encounter this?

You all try switch all and put your ear to tank. I dont think the shrimp know how to make noice. Plant? then what else create this noice?

    mystery noise

Michaelmah I went and listened to my tank after i read your post and sure enough i could hear the noise too, I think i have figured it out though.
I noticed that the mystery noise correlated exactly with the escape of bubbles from my crystal CO2 diffuser, i don't know why they would but i believe it is the bubbles making this noise. Do you have a CO2 diffuser in the tank? if you do try turning the CO2 off and listening for the noise.
    kind regards,

    Talking

I had a similar problem, I thought it was my air pump at first. Then I turned it off, but still heard the loud bubbling sound. It turns out, it was a cricket under the tank, lol. First time I heard a cricket that sounds like an air pump.

I found and killed 2, didn't really affect my shrimplets.
    Hopefully that's all.
They won't magically appear in your tank for no apparent reasons... They need food to grow so your shrimps has the poteins and the juice to help it. Sometimes when we buy plants at local lfs and didn't wash properly there's eggs attach to it.. Buy plants free eggs.. Good deal?

Most likely... Try remove them if there's any more..

    ID it?
Some are light green and some brown... They blend in with their surroundings so that it's difficult to see them...

To all bros who find these pest(I call them blood suckers) in your tanks, i'm very sure there's not only one better beware and clear them asap!

Hiya... I think I may have a seed shrimp or freshwater limpets in my tank. Are these guys harmful to shrimps/nerites/marimos? There seems to be quite a few of them feeding off my free floating plants, and my shrimps don't seem to bother them. I also saw a lot... A LOT of tiny white specks clinging to a freshly molted shrimp shell and I'm assuming these are the little ones... meaning in no time, they could end up infesting my tank! Please help, thanks!

P.S.> My 'tank' is just this tiny lil thing on my work table that has no pump or anything. So I guess a fishy solution would be out of the question

Don't worry about the seed shrimp, if that's what you have. (Seed shrimp can swim similar to shrimp, Lipets are like snails and only crawl).
Seed shrimp are harmless to every aquarium animal. Also they do not eat live plants. The shrimp will not bother them. If you don't want them, just reduce feeding and siphon the extra ones out. You will not get them all, but they will not reproduce much if the food does not get into the substrate.
Fish will eat them, but you probably don't want to mix such a fish with your shrimp (they will eat baby shrimp too).

Re: Bugs you might encounter in your aquarium

These are bugs I encounter in my shrimp tank and I still don't know what they are.

They are reddish, and about 1 to 1.5 inches long.
They burrow in the substrate, and when they are out in the open, they wriggle in the water.

Re: Bugs you might encounter in your aquarium

    Dear Guys,

I see this very strange creature in my shrimp tank buried in the soil.
It looked like flatworm but with hairs all over.
And the best thing is that the reaction is very fast. Not able to catch it or take a picture.
Anyone know what it is and is it harmful to shrimps?
If yes, I will have to take out the shrimps and stirred the tank to catch it.
Pls help to advise thank you.

    Ken
