Mine's in a community tank with tetras... They're rather defensive in the beginning but they don't attack the tetras, merely chase the tetras for a while. After a couple of days, they'll be fine. IMHO, they're much social fauna then Hasemania nana (silver tipped tetras).

Marcus, they are rams to be exact Mikrogeophagus ramirezi. Not rum.
And try to refrain from SMS shortforms like "tat".

As for mixing, it is of no issue. Go ahead and put them together. They will become aggressive to other fishes only when they are in breeding mood.

Yes they mix well along with tetras but if your tank have shrimps in it, IMO, do not include them into your tank. I had 4 rams preciously inside with my tetras they were fine, but after introducing shrimps they like attack my cherries and tigers, so i throw them out! haha

They are quite territorial creatures which is quite fun to watch how they protect their "space".
    I love my fishes.

I have tried before, my 2 rams were patrolling the whole length of the 2 feet tank. Anytime, my tetra comes near, the rams will chase them away.
