    1) Where can I get cardinal tetras either in the east or west area? I want those smaller ones. I tried Gen X & C328 already, both don't have.

    2) Can I use a Eheim 2224 filter for a 2 x 1 x 1 feet tank?

    Thanks!

    1) Call Gan's and ask.

    2) It's actually meant for a tank 5 times your tank volume. Personally, I'd go lower like a Eheim Ecco 2231 external, Eheim 2006, 2008 internal or Eden 304 or 316 internal filters.

But, if you already bought the 2224, you can still use it, but you'll have to restrict the flow, else you'll end up with a whirlpool in your tank.

2224 for a 2 footer is an overkill but..... still can be used. Do what Vincent says, reduce the flow.

Normally Gan has small cardinals. Price not sure, but normally he sells in bulk. He would sell them loose to if you ask.
    Cheers!!

No need. The 2224 has built-in flow control.
If you upgrade the tank to a 2.5ft or 3ft, the filter can still be used.

Cool! I think I'll go check it out, but then again since I already have a 2006 for my 2ft planted, I'll just stick to it, cos don't wanna cause too much disturbance with the 2224.

Will probably use it for my aro tank. Thanx guys/gals!

Aren't you afraid the discus might eat up the small cardinals? Just a thought...

Guys, I got some cardinals from a fren and realised that they had white spots upon putting them in the tank. I immediately removed them.

However, I'm worried that the tank might carry the white spots. Can someone please confirm this? The tetras were in the tank for about 5 mins.

Szesteve, Kelstorm is using 2224 4 the 2ft tank. PM him!

    Steve,

if you're worried about the white spots, then give your tank the salt treatment for about 2 weeks. if it does not show up by then, you should be quite safe. Search the medical forum for 'salt' for dosage info.

Thanx! But I kinda think it's an overkill and my tank's got lotsa fragile stuff...[]

I'll probably use it if I rescape my tank.

For now I already installed it together with my 2026 in my aro tank...hiaks...
