    hi guys,

i have been wondering about the water quality and substrate requirement.
by this i mean pH requirements (acidic or alkali).
i've read that some low pH loving crypts grow in sand/mineral like substrates but the water is acidic.
and i think this confuse some people into thinking they like high pH environments from the substrates they grow in.

if you have good growth rates for the following crypts please post your water and substrate conditions.
sequence of parameters (substrate, water column fert, CO2, lighting, pH)

    C. Affinis (ADA amazonia, - , - , - , - )
    C. Bullosa (ADA amzonia & lapis sand, - , yes, moderate, 6.5-6.9)
    C. Cordata Rosanervig (ADA amazonia, - , - , - , - )
    C. Hudoroi
    C. Keei
    C. Nurii (ADA amazonia, - , - , - , - )
    C. Striolata
    C. Usteriana
    C. Uenoi (ADA amazonia, - , - , - , - )

please feel free to add to the list above or other parameters that you feel is important too.

i hope to be able to something for my pathetic little C. Bullosa rhizhome.
and maybe add some more exotic crypts to my plant list...

    UPDATE:
i will update the first post as the suggestions come in.

    C. bullosa should grow well under ADA amazonia soil.

There other factor also which might affect the growth.
For submerse growth, make sure you have CO2, fert and moderate lighting.

    PH: 6.5-6.9

I have nurii, Rosanervig, affinis growing well in my amazonia soil tank.

For C. uenoi, you should be able to see some leaves from 2 plants at Midori's planted tank, half covered by moss.
