I am starting a marine tank [the "dark force" is too strong]

I am not sure whether to go for which of the following:

    (1) A DIY overflow box; [cheaper - more work]

    (2) A pump to pump water from the tank to the slump. [$28 more]

I'll be using DSB w/ a plenum. Planning to have some fish, and move onto reef once I have save wnough for a MH.

    Any other suggestions? comments please.

    Thank you

NEVER use a pump to pump water into a sump. You may end up with a empty tank and a flooded room... unless your sump is overhead and overflow back into your tank.

Only use overflow into the sump.
