I notice my pygamy chain sowrd's leaves are always broken or snipped off. I wonder who is the culprit. I suspect either yamato shrimp, platy, or glow light tetra. Does anyone has similar experience?

If could be one of the reason why the plant seems to stay low and not really upright. . The other reason could be the top layer of sand is too thick (> .8 inch, I am using sand + soil). They are runners but the new plants are small...

I have such a problem last time also and suspected yamato eating my tellenus but after a while I discovered that its actually more because the tellenus are rotting leaves when converting from emerge to submerge forms and adapting to the tank water. so the yamato are just helping to clear the rotting parts or algae on them. After few trimming of tellenus, the new leaves are smaller and nicer and yamato will help to keep your tank free of algae.
