But.. i'm going to bash this saturday 22nd december..
Just wanted to say...Anyone is welcomed to join..but i don't know where i'm going yet..just know that i am bashing...so.....if you're coming be preapred to be bitten by mosquito and other biting bugs, maybe get cut by our vicious tropical plants..and bring rain gear to protect either you or your gear just in case we can't get out and it rains..haha...

Probably can't join you. Flying off on the day itself so have to clean the tank, change water and stuff (because nobody's going to do water change or feed my poor discus for 1 week). So worried that I might come back to find dead fishes.

Sighz...You guys make me feel so left out! Still months to go before I can step out to the great outdoors. Hopefully, the rain would have stop by then and then hopefully my photography is still not too rusty.

    Pictures from bashing

Just posting some pictures on the bashing trip... only bashed for about 2 hrs and it wasn't even deep..but there some nice insects....however....it was so cloudy on that day..and in the under growth, it got even worse...
But i tried to shoot some insect with my dingy PNS..heehee.. lets just say next bashing i will go with DSLR liao..haha..
Anyway, just to give you guys an idea...here are some pics.

This is the little stream off somewhere i like to wonder around and take pictures... can't say where here though..

The Sand back you see on the right had TONNES of Tiger beetles!!!! awesome shots if you have a long range macro!!! but didn't shoot any with my PNS..

The water level here rises to about your knee or above... but there were cool fishes and shrimps here... there is a school of common Puntius binotatus and endangered Puntius lateristriga in the water in this photo... probably too hard to see them... can you?? haha..
IF you don't know what the barbs i mentioned look like, you can check out out local fish fauna at this page

    A tiny 2mm fly on a fern...
I also saw another stalked-eye fly that day..but by the time i set the tripod up to shoot it.. it was gone..

A neat little spider on the water...

This guy thought it was hidden so i could go sooooooo close and it still didn't move... Benny.. the flexibility of the tripod DEFINITELY helped here..haha..

well.. thats it... will probably head down another day before i fly off with the DSLR to see what i can find... hope it will be a nice day...

That kind of tripod setup... I think only you can appreciate. Not many would require that kind of EXTREME versatility.

    Cheers,

sans tripod, I shoot handheld with one hot shoe mounted 550EX and a slave 550EX either held in the other hand, other by a friend.

    That tripod is something else!
Setting it up takes some time,
but I guess the effort is all worth it.

Agree about the tripod, but it's the combination with the ball head that makes it so unbelievable!
