Don't worry, not only cichlids does this other fishes too, i guess they are stress out and want to swim away while the only way at the side of the tank is up and down.

There are tons of information on the WWW, u can either serch for them or u can post yr questions here. we'll be more then happy to answer your quries.
    Cheers!

Most new fish will do this, not just cichlids...
This is normal, so i wouldnt worry..
Not sure what you mean by a "Snow White Cichlid"..do you have a scientific name?
I actually had a Convict cichlid that attacked his own reflaction..kinda funny to watch..but bigger cichlids that do this can actually damage their face because they have so much power behind them...
Currently keeping many wild betta species and other anabantoids.

Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

I thought these cichlids need hard water. Probably need some coral chips in there.

err benny, .. isn't this species what we saw in the market? comes in several colors?? heard from LSZ that it is fierce and territorial?? that is why i never keep them.. and will become too big for 2ft tank right?
