i have been reading and reading and reading about crypts... so far.
only venture, other than the usual wendetii, i have only tried C. bullosa.
so far, other than not dying on me, its not done much...

i am mostly interested in the ones with bullated leaves!!!
its mostly the fear of having them melt on me that stops me from trying them.

    Yes that's exactly my sentiments.
And my wish would be to keep them in a Wabi Kusa styled setup.
Each crypt in a mount of its own with mosses.
    Wonder if that is possible?
It's NOT "Chee lick", NOT "Chee Chee Licks"!!! Cichlids is pronounced as "Sick Lids"!!!!!

I've always liked them, but have had absolutely no success with them. Sigh...

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

    Solid la gerald,

Where are your aponogetifolia and usteriana robbed from benny the last time?

Apart from Dennerle and Zoologica (from me?), i haven't have chance to look at green flame, Kaliebe; Green Pepper and the other exotics.

All of my echinodorus are in separate gardens now.

When free for kopi infront of your tank?

Celticfish, once you see my bullated wendtii brown sure 'wet' don't need Bullosa.anyway seasons greeting bro. Merry christmas to all too. I'm only keeping brown, undulata red and balansae for now.
Something about the water & the fishes that calms me down.

Boss, it's been a very long time since those days when we met at that place
for those apono and usteriana leh... All gone with the wind already....

Kopi in front of tank? I failed in all the aquascaping classes so dont want to get laughed at by the master, you leh... I always stay low profile...

Kopi still can! At suntec city... Benny San, can make it?

    These were killed by me:
    Affinis, Tonkinensis

The biggest problem I faced is getting the right ID for these plants because most pictures available on the web are of the emersed form.
Do you have a tank to keep them?

Well, coffee are known for its acidity, right? and therefore should be able to reduce the pH..my mixture is like a peat swap sometimes...and of course the high humidity of the tank helps...

Anyway, thanks for the the crpyt offer

    lorba,
coffee powder, hair, egg shells, vegetable bits are commonly used for composting.
coffee powder in particular is essentially a seed.
hence high quality biomass for compost - value to weight ratio.
i have used it for composting and whatever you put in it grows well.
before it is composted it is acidic but porbably loses that after it turns to compost proper.
