hi guys.. anyone growing emmersed moss or fissiden?
well i came up with a stupid idea..
you guys know some tanks have those bracing on both side of the tank.. as i don't put my water level above the bracing... i wet the bracing and layed taiwan moss evenly on the bracing..
wondering if they are able to grow on glass? or they need some kinda fert if grown emmersly? and also.. if they are kept dry.. how long can they surivive before they die? im worried that next morning i wake up everything dry up
lighting will be from my 36watt PL lighting for my tank..
since i have 2 bracing, 1 will be with taiwan moss while the other i'll try us fissiden
    heres a picture..

anyway, guys, do share your emmersed moss pictures..

if u can direct the slow dripping onto the bracing with no risk of spilling out, then your moss can grow emerse in 1-3weeks time.

Otherwise, it will definitely dry up.

Moss can grow and climb on almost any media.

Not totally dry but moist conditions for the moss to survive.

I had some moss growing out of the water at the back of my tank, they were growing on the black Styrofoam back and had protruded out of the water on the top and this part is giving me the most headache with BGA. Most likely cause is that as the moss is outside the water, there is no running water current but is moist enough for the BGA to grow. Also it is the nearest to the light source. Had been fighting the BGA there until a couple of weeks back where I put aquarium salt directly onto it. Seems the BGA had been controlled since then but some of the protruding moss had disappeared too.

i think certain forms of moss can probably grow emersed as long as there's a slight water source. singapore moss do not even need constant water and grow on soil naturally.
