did a rough doodle on my tank and its driftwood and I was wondering anyone of you have any advice on the plants I ought to have and where in the tank? I'm not very familiar with aquatic plants' names still, so your info will be very much appreciated - will refer to Dennerle's website for plants, then go to Teo's for purchase. [] As you can see the wood's on the left - will be planning a tall, heavily planted left and a open plain on the right. What would go well in the back, mid and fore ground? Thanks!

BTW, thanks a billion Vinz on helping me post the sketch!

there is one issue of aquajournal which talks abt trimming of plants, the sample tank has a driftwood something like your's..

    E. stellata on the left, prolly it will grow along the surface once it hit the surface, or u can try Rotala macrandra.. on the right perharps u can go with hairgrass, glosso or tenellus

How about some MM at the left front just in front of the E.stella that Simon has suggested.

Thanks everyone. Will be doodling a coloured version of the tank with the plants in place (once I have figure out how they look like []). Then load it up and see how it may look like - PROVIDED, work doesn't kill me before I can do that []

Ok guys, just some stuff to share. just hope the pics can load...

this is my bare tank 2 days ago...

I wanted to hide the base fert, so I bordered it with gravel - pretty easy with a piece of acrylic...

This is my tank at the end of day 1.

    Anakin,

Can't see the last 2 pics. Yahoo does not share out pics easily. In fact, before your first pic, I would have said impossible.

Provide a link to the album is the safest/easiest option.

Hi there, IMO, you can consider growing a bunch of C.crispatula var balansae at the back of driftwood if you really cannot find A. ulvaceus.

    FYI,
The vals you have at the back will grow like weeds.

Can't really see the other plants. What foreground plant did you plant, [i]E.tiandra[i]?
    Cheers!!

Sherchoo, the Val are not spiralis, I think Americana or something like that? will trim them once they are established. Thanks for the advice, will keep an EYE out for them.

the foreground in the middle is glosso - I know it's pretty sparse - but trying to plant more everyday - siong man! on the right is MM - behind the MM is a HG 'plantation' []

Alfa, I've exchanged my left-over HG and tenellus with lorba for a aponogeton ulvaceus. and since yeaterday, I've managed to insert in my moss wall behind all my plants - will upload them once my digi cam's battery is charged. and will increase the resolution and pic size.

    keep the comments coming.
