Thank Benny for the birdie lens and Mervin for the transport , shooting in the park is so much easier compared to butterfly photography

    Simon,
Nice photos! Liked the kingfisher, used to see them at Potong Pasir before the flats came up. BTW, you are using the 2x TC, that is teleconverter? Is that useful?

yes richard, however TC degrades optical sharpness and should not be used unnecessarily, when using a TC on a lens, you double the focal length but in exchange the minimum f-stop also increases in respect to the choice of TC (either by 1.4x or 2.0x).

    Simon,
Thanks for the explanation. Can it be used for prime lens as well as zoom lens?
I was thinking it's a good investment, buy a 2xTC and you get double the lens you owned.

it can work for most fast lenses f2.8 & below will be better, but I wouldn't recommending the use of a TC unless you got a super optical quality lens like the birding lenses or the canon 70-200 L 2.8. No doubt it double your lens focal length, but the disadvantage of sharpness degrading will turn most photographers away, in some cases, the lenses hunts more when using a TC
