i am currently using both of these.
excel is co2 liquid form, while flourish is a comprehensive liquid fertilisers for plants.
Do a quick search and read some of the products listed on their website to familiarise yourself . Good luck.

hi guys, since this thread is about excel.. i would like to ask if excel is good enough to use for co2 source? like if im using EI dosing and high lighting for my HC. is excel good enough?
thanks
IMHO, it should be good enough but can be quite expensive in the long run.
I was told that excell cause HC melt
i have been using excel in my tank with no co2...no problem so far but i have found that if you don't dose regularly, vallisneria tends to melt.
however my tank doesn't have that many plants, not like those heavy aquascapes. i think for those, co2 would be needed.
If I remember correctly, Shadow was trying to grow emerge then to create a lawn before he added a tank load of water. There might be a possibility for it to be too concentrated but I may be wrong.
Yup I did, even though not using excell, my second batch also melted few days after it is underwater. Still waiting for success story from other people.
So I might be melt due to emerse to submerse convertion instead of excell, that is why I said "I was told" because I can't confirm it
okay... haha i'll see if it continue to melt over the weeks.. thanks
Seachem Excel 1-litre bottle currently out of stock in many places.

I didn't know there is 1L bottle, ussually bought 500ml
Just to correct misconceptions.
Excel is not exactly "liquid CO2". CO2 cannot stay as a liquid unless it is of certain temperature.
Excel contains a polymerised isomer of glutaraldehyde (C5H802) trademarked as polycycloglutaracetal by Seachem themselves. And glutaraldehyde itself, according to Wikipedia, is used generally as a disinfectant.
Besides Seachem, another product in the market is EasyCarbo by EasyLife, which I found to be just as effective and easier to open.
thanks for the correction valice.
Possibly also why some plants cannot take Excel.
