    I want to git an new canister filter for a 55 gallon tank an i don know what to git it is planted with preserized co2 i was think the new marine land c-360 or a fluval fx-5 and i dont know if the fluval with be to much pressure but i like the idea of the fluval beacuse i want to git a biiger tank with in the next year so could some on give me a suggestion on either of those two or any diffrent one please and thank you ahead of time

    i'm using a fluval fx5 for a 120 gallon and the flow is just right for it. the downside is that it's a huge hassle to run inline equipment like a co2 reactor or, in your case perhaps, a heater due to its non-standard hoses.

    what you could do is to purchase an Eheim ProII 2028 for your 55 gallon now, and when you upgrade your tank, purchase a second one and run them one on each end. Or if budget is a constraint, get the equivalents in other brands - Rena XP3 or Fluval 405

    On the fluval fx5 hose is th diameter not standard or is it the ribbed style that isnt standard

    both i believe. it uses a 25mm tube according to Fluval but 21-22mm when i measured it. standard sizes should be 12mm or 16mm internal diameter.
