Hey there, just got this killifish from c328, which i am unable to identify.

After searching for awhile on the net, i'm guessing its Aphyosemion calliurum... Any pro here can confirm my guess, or correctly identify it?
Sorry for the poor image quality, the little guy just refused to stop moving

The body of the fish has violet/bluish tones that aren't very visible in the photos.

Hmm.. how big is this fish? Looks like a juvenile, which makes identification difficult. Going by the violet/bluish tones, my stab in the dark would be Fundulopanchax gardneri gardneri.

Otherwise, you can try asking the killie folks at http://www.killies.com.

From the body shape and the pattern on the anal fin, it looks like F. filamentosus. But do get a second opinion.
Knowing others, one is wise; knowing the self, one is enlightened. In conquering others, one is forceful; in conquering oneself, one is mighty.

    Thanks guys for the input

Yes, this fella does look more like a Fundulopanchax than an Aphyosemion.
i would think that his anal and caudal fin patterns look more like F. filamentosus, but not possible to rule out F. gardneri either,as it isnt fully coloured up yet.

I'll try to get some pics of him coloured up, once i can get my friend to loan me his digicam

After searching for more photos on the Internet, i think i'm fairly sure that this particular fish is F. filamentosus "Lagos".

    Thanks guys for the help
Now, if only i could lay my hands on a female...
