    Hi All Bro,

After the fatal lost of all my fry by the daddy ram due to stress( I guess ) he ate them for dinner I had made up my mind i want to set up a low tech breeding planted tank.

The tank i would be getting will be 1.5ftx 1ftx 1ft.
Although i'm thinking of low tech but is also considering if the addition of co2 will help in term of adjusting the ph level.

So now here come the problem, i need to check with bro which plant will be ideal for ram breeding? Mosses? or any other stem plant???

    Thank Bro!!

you will want mosses so that the fry can hide there and feed on infusoria

Java moss or spiky moss will be good. I do not recommend Co2 at all. With CO2, lights and fertilisation comes into play; your low tech tank becomes high tech, after which algae comes into the picture. While algae arguably can be good for fry, it's just an ugly and irritating sight. If you want to lower PH, use ADA soil with peat. Very effective for breeding.

fow lower ph, just use ADA africana without peat. ph of 5-5.1 is easily achievable with no extra effort needed. i'm not so sure if rams enjoy such low ph like apistos though
