Describe your problem : noticed today that there are algae spots on the glass and water is abit cloudy( its been cloudy since day 1)

The green spot algae could be caused by the direct sunlight. I do not think this is a major problem, just need constantly clean the glass. As for the cloudy water, it may be caused by new tank syndrome. You may want to do a search on the web to find out more on that.
