Is there such thing as Hardwater or softwater crypts? I've seen on a few post that some crypts grow better with coral chips added.
Does anyone have a list of crypts that grows better with coral chips & those that grows better in peat substrate?

    yes there is.

Most swamp crypts will need low ph, fast flowing streams one probably not too low and those near limestone area, coastal region ones will need hard water.

I keep noritoi, ciliata, affinis, apogetifolia in water with some broken live rocks and coral chips. pH is probably 7.5 - 8.

Thanks for the info. Probably i'll have to avoid those crypts as my tank setup has a relatively low PH.

I had that question too. Right now i am keeping it in compost with sphagnum moss as bottom layer. I think it depends on where the plants are collected.

i have been trying to search for information.
but there seems to be many questions to this crypt...
"the crypt pages" says they do not know of any successful cultivations!

funny that the one i have has bright green leaves unlike their picture which show brown/black leaves.
i suppose that would be due to locality of collection.

I have 3 sp of bullosa now. 1 is not healthy. 2 others are growing new leaves but not big. Its not easy for me either, but i keep them in acidic condition.

If time permits, maybe you can drop by to see my crypt set up at clementi office.

Is your office open to public or is it by invitation only?

Hi, How do you grow your C. bullosa? If you grow them emmerse, high chance you will get "green leave". If sumberse, i think your setup lack the iron.

    TS168,
The plant was already that way from the shop.
But you might be right as the plant was also cultivated from the shop.
I will try to get some fert with more iron.
    Thanks for the point.
