Signing up for the workshop.
Hi guys,
It's been a while since we last conducted a dedicated workshop for aquatic photography. I'm thinking of a session, focusing on digital SLR cameras as well as advance Point and Shoot (those with ability to attach flash) cameras. As this will be more or less an intermediate workshop, prerequisite for this workshop will be a basic understanding of photography. One will need to be familiar with concepts of aperture, shutterspeed and ISO as well as knowing how to activate these functions on their camera.
The focus will be on aquarium macro photography, specialising in fishes and invertebrates. Although we will briefly touch on tank photography at the end of the session.
I intent to keep this to a small group of 6 to 10 members only. So as to be able to give all participants enough personal attention, based on the gear they are using.
If there is enough interest, we will source for a suitable location and firm up a timing. It will most likely to be a Saturday, and the workshop should last 4 to 6 hours. And of course, this special workshop will be free to our AQ members. Non members need not apply. Priority will be based on activity of your membership.
Please vote on the poll above to give us an indication of your interest. Thanks!
Cheers,

me too! can add full tank photography lesson as well on the agenda?
Me on. But can include some basics on tank photography? I am starting from zero. Pardon me.
Thanks benny! This sound like a great idea. I would like very much to join in. However, as I'm now still very new to photography and also still trying to figure out how to use my camera, guess I'm not very qualified to attend the workshop...
Anyway, put me in the reserve listing and I'll be very happy to attend if there are vacancy available..
Don't worry. All you need to do is to read the manual and know what all the buttons are for. The rest we'll take it along. I remember your camera has the ability to mount flashes so if it's fish photography you are interested in, this will be directly relevant.
Besides, the workshop won't happen tomorrow. I'm sure you have about 4 weeks or so to familiarize yourself with the camera.
Cheers,

Oops, i just voted yes, but i realised my PnS can't mount an external flash guess i'll have to wait till there's a workshop for those with more basic cameras
Ok. Count me in.But no macro lens yet.
I am in!
Yixiang, in that case you better go buy a DSLR
Merv, you should be able to mount a ST-E2 to your camera for tank photography.

I'm interested....thanks for creating this workshop.
Is this for experience photographer? I'm just a beginner and amateur in photography, any issue?

Ok... benny, I'm on!
In the meanwhile, I will brush up my skill and knowledge so that I can make the most out of the workshop. Cheers!
Hi Benny,
I am interested too. Are we required to have macro lenses and external flashes for this course?
I'm interested also.

I think choy was using a Canon G6 (?) for his earlier works with amazing results. So, no, I would think that you don't need dSLR.

it was a g5, which is much better than a g6 IMHO.
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.
